The Parish Centre Preschool runs their programs using the guidelines provided by the Australian Governenments ‘Early Years Learning Framework’

The Early Years Learning Framework describes the principles, practice and outcomes essential to support and enhance young children’s learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school. The Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning as play is the best vehicle for young children’s learning providing the most appropriate stimulus for brain development. The Framework also recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development.

Vision

Our vision for the Lismore Parish Centre Preschool is that it be an Early Childhood Centre where all children are equal and unique. We will endeavour to help each child develop to their full potential in partnership with the family and within a Christian atmosphere of love and care so that all children may grow with a sense of security, belonging, self-worth and respect for others.

Purpose

The purpose of the Lismore Parish Centre Preschool is to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating preschool service that encourages the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative development of our community’s children. We support positive relationships, the development of self-responsibility and the fostering of each child’s wellbeing.

Learning

From our belief that the early years are a unique and valuable stage of life, (not just a preparation for the later years of schooling and adulthood), play is the avenue through which learning and discovery is made. Learning through play, community and kindness. Play is the core of our programme. Play is honoured through activity, music, solo events, etc
